Mission: to chose any supplement and in the comments section of this blog post the following: A picture of the supplement State what the manufacturer is claiming this supplement is doing. By identifying the active ingredient(s) in the supplement justify the manufacturer’s claims using your biochemical knowledge of human metabolism. Be creative with your responses. It could be in the form of a blog post reply or a video reply. If you are using text then a minimum of 250 words should be used and for videos the time limit is 5 mins.

Figure 1: Creatine Powder to Support Muscle Growth

The name of the supplement that I will be reviewing today is Arnold Iron Cre3 manufactured by MusclePharm. The manufacturer claims that after using this product one will see “increased strength, power and recovery. It will support muscle building and recovery and rapid absorption of creatine. The main ingredient in this product is creatine nitrate. This product works in two ways firstly; creatine is a phosphogen.  Phoshogens are capable of storing large amounts of readably available energy in the form of creatine phosphate. During extreme exercise ATP stores are used up quite quickly and here is where the phosphogen  system goes into action. This pathway is vey simple: ADP plus creatine phosphate will give ATP and creatine and mediated by the enzyme creatine kinase. Since more ATP is produced quickly more energy can be transferred to the muscle therefore more work can be done meaning more muscle gains. But why supplement with creatine you may ask? Usually creatine in the body is found in low concentrations and if more is added that means more energy stores meaning more ATP can be produced quickly resulting in gains
